Random Update 1: Scripts

I’ve written my fair share of scripts that belong in the movie variety even before I started using them as outlines for long form writing. Some of them are being turned into long form but some are sitting here, languishing, doing nothing but growing old and needing an update in cultural references.

I’m not sharing any of them here (for the time being) but I do want to give some titles and log lines because why the hell not?

The Personification Principle – 30 minute web short

Now that the Twilight Saga is done and monsters of old are wimpy, emo, sparkling things how would the personification of these monsters go about their lives? If every monster was forced to change into what the popular version of them has become what difficulties would they encounter?

This 30 minute short would follow the personifications of Dracula, Werewolf, Frankenstein’s Monster, and Invisible Man. It also works as a backdoor pilot for a TV show.

Status: half of main cast in place, more shooting hardware needed, final draft of script required

Finding God – 120 minute film

On the East Coast a young man named Jack has been in a coma for years where he continually has nightmares. A city half a continent away has been terrorized by a serial killer that can only be seen by his victims. Magic? Supernatural? Or is there some other link between the two?

Perfect Situation/Close To Death – 120 minute film

Status: Title changed to Comatos, media shifted to long form writing. See Prologue and Chapter One preview on this site.

Lucy’s Ex – 90 minute film

Lucy had a one night stand with The Boss and just found out she is pregnant. The Boss (character’s name) doesn’t know yet and has been having a long running affair with his secretary, Michael (female), while dealing with the flack of his famous son coming out as gay. Michael finds out about The Boss’ other affair and Lucy’s pregnancy and decides to eliminate her from the picture permanently. Lucy’s friends Rae, Connie, Minnie, and Red help Lucy in a fight against Michael’s forces to get to The Boss to let him know about the pregnancy. Action and comedy mixed with strong female leads.

While that seems a jumble I can’t give away the full concept on this script because I feel it is too good to let out into the internet wilds. The concept is something I haven’t seen done in film before (at least to this extent) and deserves time to come to fruition before being let loose upon the world.

Wonder Woman – 90 minute film

Since Hollywood can’t seem to get off their asses to make a Wonder Woman movie I started writing a script for a film that would not only honor all DC properties of the past but allow them to be canonical while still making all new DC superhero films modern. This would also lead to the Justice League movie. The opening 15 minutes rely upon Crisis On Infinite Earths for the transition of old properties into the new. An outline is available upon request or you can read this long, rambling comment that sort of describes it that I posted on a Jezebel article.

And that’s all I have to share at the moment. The rest will have to wait until I decide whether they’re being brought into current writing, fleshed out for themselves, or destroyed completely because they’re utter crap.
